QuitApp Privacy Policy
Hangzhou Weishe Technology Co., Ltd. and its affiliates (collectively, "we", "us", or "our") operate QuitApp. We understand the importance of personal information to you. We process information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and apply reasonable security measures to protect your personal information and privacy. We have prepared this Privacy Policy and specifically encourage you to read and understand it before using QuitApp and related services so that you can make informed choices. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding this Policy, please contact us using the details at the end of this document.
This Policy, together with our User Agreement, forms the legal basis for your use of the app. By checking the consent box or continuing to use the app, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to our processing of information as described herein.
This Privacy Policy will help you understand:
- • We follow principles of lawfulness, legitimacy, necessity, and good faith. We will not bundle the collection of personal information solely because you agree to this Policy;
- • When you use or enable certain features or services, we may collect and use related information as necessary to provide those features or services. Unless information is required for basic app functions or by law, you may refuse to provide it without affecting other features or services;
- • Permissions such as overlay, Usage Access, and notifications are not enabled by default. They are used only after your explicit authorization for specific features or services, and you may withdraw that authorization. Even after authorization, we do not collect your information when the related feature or service does not require it;
- • The sections below explain in detail how we collect, use, store, transmit, share, and protect personal information, and how you may access, correct, delete, or withdraw consent regarding your personal information.
I. Scope and Manner of Information We Collect
1.1 Information Necessary for Core Features
QuitApp is designed for digital wellbeing and self-management. Its core capabilities include app group limits, focus tasks, usage duration statistics, and alerts or blocking when user-defined rules are triggered. To provide these services, we may process the following information:
| Category | Purpose | Handling and Notes |
|---|---|---|
| App groups, limit rules, focus tasks, schedules, and personalized settings | Execute your configured restriction policies, focus plans, and local statistics | Stored primarily in on-device databases or local storage; generally not uploaded to our servers |
| Installed app lists, app names, package names, icons, and usage duration | Let you select managed apps, create groups, and apply restrictions and statistics | Read on Android after authorization; on iOS, managed through Screen Time selection tokens via system frameworks |
| Feedback email content and descriptions you voluntarily provide | Handle inquiries, complaints, and product improvement suggestions | Sent to us through your chosen email client at your initiative |
| Diagnostic information auto-attached to feedback emails | Help diagnose compatibility and permission-related issues | May include platform type, manufacturer, model, system version, app version, language, time zone, generation time, and key permission status |
The app does not offer account registration or login. Except for information you voluntarily provide through feedback, we generally do not proactively collect contact details that directly identify you (such as phone numbers or email addresses).
1.2 Information for Experience Improvement and Service Stability
To continuously optimize product performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain service availability, and after you grant authorization, we or embedded third-party components may access certain device attributes, runtime logs, and analytics events, including but not limited to: device brand and model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone, network status, device identifiers processed by ad and analytics components (such as IDFA, Android ID, advertising ID, etc.), ad interaction information (impressions, clicks, completions, etc.), and IP addresses that may arise from network communications. The types and scope of such information may vary depending on your device environment and partner technical implementations.
App usage analytics events (such as screen views and feature usage) are used to measure daily active users, feature adoption, and stability, and are processed through the Firebase Analytics component.
1.3 Auto-Start and Associated Launch
To ensure that restriction rules remain effective after you leave the app, after device restart, or while running in the background, the app may listen for system broadcasts to implement auto-start or associated launch, and may maintain a foreground service or notification bar status when necessary. These mechanisms serve only the restrictions, schedules, or focus tasks you have enabled and will not expand operation beyond your configured rules without your configuration.
1.4 System Permissions and Platform Capabilities
The following permissions and platform capabilities require your explicit authorization before use. You may view, manage, or revoke authorization in system settings at any time. After revocation, related features may no longer be available, but other unrelated features will not be affected:
Android
- Internet access: supports version checks, ad loading, analytics components, and feedback-related links;
- Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): identifies the foreground app and calculates per-app usage duration—essential for restriction and statistics features;
- Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): displays blocking screens or prompts when a restricted app is in the foreground;
- Notifications and foreground service: maintains restriction-related background services and displays necessary operational status;
- Boot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) and battery optimization settings: restores or maintains rule execution after restart or under background restrictions;
- Installed app query (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES): generates the list of apps you may select;
- Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): triggers or restores rules at times you schedule.
iOS
- Screen Time / FamilyControls: lets you select apps or categories to manage;
- DeviceActivity: manages restriction windows and shielding within Apple's permitted system framework.
1.5 Third-Party SDKs and Other Partners
To support analytics and advertising features, the app embeds third-party software development kits (SDKs). We require authorized partners to process personal information in accordance with our entrusted purposes, service descriptions, this Privacy Policy, and applicable confidentiality and security obligations. We conduct security assessments of APIs through which third-party SDKs obtain information. Relevant SDKs are described below:
(1) Analytics — Firebase Analytics (Google)
Operator: Google LLC and its affiliates
Purpose: statistical analysis, measurement of feature usage, and assistance in identifying anomalies and stability issues
Types of personal information that may be collected: app instance ID, event data, device and system information, network status, and related identifiers as actually collected by the SDK
Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
(2) Advertising — Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
Operator: Google LLC and its affiliates
Purpose: delivery of native and rewarded ad formats, ad measurement, frequency control, and performance analytics
Types of personal information that may be collected: advertising identifiers, device information, ad interaction information, approximate location, and network status, subject to Google's policies
Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
(3) Other System or Platform Services
App stores and operating system services: used for update links, rating prompts, in-app purchases, and permission authorization, with information processed under each platform's rules;
Email clients: used to send feedback emails, processing content you provide and auto-attached diagnostic information.
II. How We Use Collected Information
We use collected information strictly in accordance with laws, regulations, and our agreements with users. If we use information for purposes not stated in this Policy, or use information collected for a specific purpose for other purposes, we will obtain your consent or provide notice as required by law:
- Provide, maintain, and improve app limits, focus tasks, usage statistics, rewarded ads, and feedback features;
- Monitor app stability, analyze active users, and optimize user experience;
- Detect version updates and present optional or necessary upgrade prompts;
- Respond to your inquiries, complaints, rights requests, and troubleshooting needs;
- Comply with legal obligations, regulatory requirements, and app store compliance standards;
- Where permitted by law, safeguard service security, prevent fraud, and address unlawful or improper conduct.
III. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The app primarily runs in a mobile environment and generally does not rely on traditional browser cookies. However, we or embedded third-party services may use local storage, device identifiers, log identifiers, and similar technologies for session maintenance, analytics, ad frequency control, and service security. You may limit ad tracking, reset advertising identifiers, or adjust related permissions through system settings, which may affect how some technologies work; refusing or limiting them may cause certain dependent services to malfunction.
IV. Sharing, Transfer, and Public Disclosure of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information to any company, organization, or individual. We may share, transfer, or publicly disclose personal information only under the following circumstances:
- With your prior explicit consent or authorization;
- As necessary to enable advertising, analytics, app store links, or email feedback, sharing within agreed scope with third-party SDK operators or service partners listed in this Policy;
- As required by laws, regulations, or mandatory requests from administrative or judicial authorities;
- Within the scope permitted by law, to protect your, our, or other users' personal or property safety, or to protect public interests in emergencies;
- In connection with mergers, divisions, acquisitions, asset transfers, or similar transactions, where personal information transfer is part of the transaction—we will require the new holder to remain bound by this Policy or obtain your authorization again;
- Information you have lawfully made public, or personal information collected from lawfully disclosed sources (such as lawful news reporting or government information disclosure).
V. Storage and Protection of Personal Information
5.1 Location and Retention
Your app groups, rules, tasks, and local settings are stored primarily on your device. Uninstalling the app usually deletes such local data, although operating system backups or cloud sync mechanisms may behave differently. Information processed by third-party SDKs may be stored on their servers; retention periods are governed by their respective policies. We retain content you send us via feedback email only for a limited time when necessary to handle your request.
5.2 Security Measures
We take the security of personal information seriously and apply industry-standard protective measures, including access control, security strategies for transmission and storage, partner compliance assessments, and principles of minimum necessary collection, to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of data. Please understand that, due to the nature of the internet and technical limitations, no security measure can guarantee absolute security. You should also safeguard your device, system permissions, and app store account.
VI. How You Manage Your Personal Information
In accordance with applicable data protection laws, we respect your control over personal information and provide mechanisms to help you exercise the following rights (subject to applicable law and practical circumstances):
6.1 Access and Inspection
You have the right to access and inspect your personal information. You may view locally stored groups, rules, tasks, and settings within the app. To learn more about other information processed by us or third parties, contact us via the email address in this Policy.
6.2 Correction and Supplementation
If you believe personal information we process about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request correction or supplementation. You may edit relevant configurations in the app; you may also edit feedback email content before sending.
6.3 Deletion
You may request deletion of personal information under the following circumstances:
- Our processing violates mandatory provisions of laws and regulations;
- We collected or used your personal information without your consent, or in violation of our agreement with you;
- You no longer use our products and services, or the retention period has expired;
- We terminate services and operations.
You may also delete locally stored data by uninstalling the app.
6.4 Withdrawal of Consent and Change of Authorization Scope
You may close related permissions in device system settings, or stop using and uninstall the app, to withdraw your authorization for our continued collection and use of your personal information. On first launch, we do not initialize Firebase Analytics or Google Mobile Ads until you check the consent box on the welcome screen agreeing to this Policy and the User Agreement. Withdrawal of consent may cause some features to stop working, but does not affect the validity of processing already conducted based on your prior consent (except as otherwise required by law).
6.5 Limiting Personalized Ads
You may limit ad tracking through device system settings (such as iOS Tracking settings or Android advertising ID controls) to affect the degree of personalized ad delivery.
6.6 Response Timeline
After verifying your identity, we will respond to your request within fifteen business days. If we cannot fulfill your request, we will explain the reasons.
VII. How We Handle Minors' Personal Information
The app is intended for general users seeking self-management and digital wellbeing. If you are under eighteen years of age, please read this Policy with your parent or guardian and use the app only with their consent and guidance. If a guardian discovers that a minor has provided personal information to us without consent, please contact us at help@weshe.tech and we will take appropriate measures, including deletion, as required by law.
VIII. Cross-Border Provision of Personal Information
Firebase Analytics, Google Mobile Ads, app stores, and email services may be provided by entities in different jurisdictions, and related information may be processed accordingly. Within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy, we require partners to protect your personal information in accordance with applicable law, including cross-border transfer requirements where applicable.
IX. Updates to This Privacy Policy
As our business develops, features evolve, or laws and regulations change, we may revise this Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through in-app prompts, page announcements, or other reasonable means. If you do not agree with the updated Policy, please stop using the app; continued use constitutes your understanding and acceptance of the revised content.
